Do you offer roof cleaning?
If your once beautiful tile or shingle roof is now black from mold we can help!
- Protect plants with coverings: We tarp any exposed plants and bag all gutters to ensure plant safety. Note: Depending on the circumstance and how long it has been since your last cleaning we can not always guarantee that none of your plants will burn.
- Soft-wash system: We use a soft wash system that uses less pressure than a garden hose. This system utilizes a chemical that pulls any mold and lichen off of your roof.
- Complete water rinse: We then rinse the roof with water to dilute any chemicals used. This final step of rinsing is done on every roof. Many companies only rinse roofs where there are no gutters if they rinse them at all. We rinse every roof, even ones with gutters to ensure there is no damage to the galvanized nails used to hold the shingles or tiles in place.
After the first cleaning, we recommend having your roof treated annually. This method is far less expensive and is guaranteed not to kill plants!

What is roof treatment vs. roof cleaning?
There are two common methods to cleaning a roof:
- Power washing: The first way is to power wash your roof. This process entails a power washer getting on your roof with a heavy hose and surface cleaner and using great amounts of pressure to blast away any mold and debris. While they are doing this they are also blasting away years of your roof’s longevity. The only benefit to this method is that there will be no plant damage because no chemicals are used.
- Soft washing: The second method is a soft wash. With a soft wash system, a chemical (usually a high strength bleach) is applied to the roof at very low pressure. This chemical is left on the roof to burn off the lichen and mold. However, this method is harmful to plants if multiple precautions are not taken. This method can also be harmful to the galvanized nails holding the roof tiles in place.
Mullet's roof treatment process
The best solution for a safe, effective roof cleaning that protects your plants is to treat your roof. Our roof treatment plan will keep your roof looking clean and new all year long.
- Step 1 (initial soft-wash): We clean the roof with a soft wash system the first time. We take all the necessary precautions to protect your plants. We also rinse all chemicals to dilute everything to water leaving no harmful chemicals behind.
- Step 2 (annual treatment): After this initial cleaning, we come every year and treat your roof with a mild solution. This solution is not harmful to plants or your roof. It keeps mold and mildew away until your next treatment which means your roof will stay clean all the time.
We can treat most roofs from the ground eliminating the need to walk on your roof. This is also the most cost-effective way to keep your roof clean. Never worry about an inefficient roof or a letter from the HOA again. Get on a treatment plan today!

How often should I have my pavers resealed?
It is recommended to have your paver hardscape sealed every 2-3 years.
The amount of traffic and rainfall are the biggest drivers for how long your sealer will last. The more frequently you have the professionals at Mullet’s seal your pavers the less sealer is required. This means you get a lower price on each paver sealing project.
Having your pavers sealed more frequently is also better for the longevity of your pavers. It ensures a lighter, less aggressive cleaning process and ensures there is always a protective coating on your pavers.
